I can't say enough great things about Josh Powell Camp. This is my son's second year and he loved it. What I love about this camp is that it is old school outdoor fun. Also, the counselors love the kids. I love how they hold the kids accountable for their actions by making sure they use kind words and respect one another. I highly recommend. I referred two friends and they loved it as well. I will say expect your kid to come home very dirty. That is a sign of a great day. :-)

Josh Powell Camp is amazing! My boys (ages 8 and 5) had an incredible week of being outside at camp all day! They got to swim, learn archery, canoe, do the ropes course, play games, and make crafts. They came home happy, tired, and dirty from playing hard, which is a win for me!! The staff and counselors are wonderful, too. I also love that there are options for my boys to attend during school breaks. All around, Josh Powell is just a great place, and we highly recommend it!

Absolutely amazing. This is the most organized and activity filled camp. My son loves the outdoors and this was perfect for him. There is structure but they also just let kids be kids and play, explore, learn. My son can be slow to warm up to new environments and I was so impressed by how quickly he connected with this camp. He’s already asking to go again. Thank you!

My kids ages 7 and 9 attended Josh Powell for the first time last week…and they have never loved a camp like they did JP! My 9 year old is a little harder to please when it comes to summer camp and he kept asking if he got to go back. It’s the absolute perfect camp to get the kids out of the city and away from devices for good old fashion outdoor fun. We even signed up for another two weeks because they so enjoyed it!

My son loved his time at Josh Powell Camp so much that he's already asking to go back. He said he loved every activity that was offered. I loved Josh Powell camp because it allowed him to experience so many traditional camp activities like canoeing, archery and swimming. We look forward to sending him again next year.

My 8 year old daughter attended three weeks at Josh Powell this summer and had an absolute blast!! It really was a perfect authentic summer day camp experience - Ellie came home wiped out daily, full of stories that made her sound happy and connected and cared for. She had so many adventures at this charming little camp :) She is an overall more confident and joyful human thanks in part to this great summer camp experience. Well done

The second year our daughter has gone to Josh Powell Camp, and once again she came home exhausted and happy every day with her friends! She goes to several camps each summer, but this is the one that she remembered and asked for by name.

My two boys attended Josh Powell Camp for the first time this summer and had a blast! Everything exceeded our expectations and they can’t wait to go back again. It was so nice for them to have a full week of outdoor experiences, friends, and challenging activities. They both tried new things and were proud of themselves for conquering a fear of the ropes course/zip line. Thanks to the staff and camp administration for a great week!

My son went to JP for the first time this summer and absolutely loved it! Though he didn't know anyone going his session, he made friends quickly through the bus rides and fun activities at the camp. He especially loved doing the activities that he might be too young for at other camps -- canoeing, archery, etc. And the forts! He loved building the forts! Great experience for our family.

Our daughter attended JP summer camp for the first time this year and had a BLAST! She stayed active all day and was proud to tell us about all the fun, new things she did each afternoon when we picked her up: archery, canoeing, ropes course, fort-building, swimming, crafting, and more! She really enjoyed the ropes course and giant purple slide! She was so proud of herself for being so brave on the ropes course! The staff were all warm, welcoming, & professional. They all seemed like great role models for the camp kiddos too! JP truly was a “mighty fine place” and we will be back again!

We had an amazing experience with camp! So much so that we signed up for an extra week at the end of the summer! My son is a bit shy and needs some extra encouragement, every one was supportive and positive! Camp administrators kept in touch and sent updates so I felt especially comfortable. Highly recommend! My son was happy, covered in mud and exhausted when he came home every day!!

A great day camp for any kid full of energy! My 6yo son had a great week at Josh Powell Camp. He got to do ropes courses, build forts, canoe and swim. He got off the bus each day tired and dirty. He loved it so much he's already asking to go back next year!

My six year old LOVED Josh Powell Camp! Every day after camp, she'd tell me about new adventures she tried for the first time: canoeing, ropes course, archery, and more. The overall camp experience fostered a greater sense of independence, confidence, and self-reliance in my daughter. She is so excited to go back next year!

My daughter had a great time at Josh Powell Camp! She especially loved the pool, learning archery, and riding on the paddle boat. I was glad to find a traditional summer camp for a rising kindergartener to give her lots of time outdoors. We will definitely be returning next summer!

Total blast! We will absolutely be back next summer. Josh Powell was my son’s “favorite camp ever!” The staff was engaging and made every day a fun adventure. The more traditional camp offerings like canoeing and archery were such a hit. We look forward to returning!

My son attended Josh Powell for the first time last week and absolutely loved it. He attended on the recommendation of a friend who attended 30 years ago and was sending his son, who is a good friend of our son. The boys had a chance to spend time outdoors, make new friends, and try out and master new skills (I got to hear every night about the bulls-eyes in archery, canoe races, etc.). Thank you for a great week for our son!

Josh Powell is a unique and AMAZING camp! My two kids just finished another week at JP and cannot wait to return. They came home every day (completely exhausted!) with fun stories about their experiences and the friends they made. They loved canoeing, swimming, archery, gagaball, and all the other fun activities they did during the week. We are so grateful to the staff at JP for giving them such a magical experience. We will definitely be back!

This was the first summer that we had our 5 year boy in any camps and Josh Powell was the last one we signed up for the last session. After going to several other camps this summer he did not seem to like much we were blown away by JP camp and I am SO glad I decided to enroll him this one last. He had so much and woke up so excited to go everyday unlike the other camps we did. We will definitely be back next summer. The activities and staff were all fantastic!

Our boys have always had an amazing time at Josh Powell Camp! The activities are numerous (archery, ropes course, canoeing, swimming, etc) and each day they come home excited and worn out! It’s like overnight camp without the overnight part! Counselors and staff are amazing!
